It is a real pleasure to be able to say that I have been a witness, even if only a simple one, of the life, the human and the artistic growth of Nicoletta Braccioni from her birth in December 1968 in Fano (PU) until her return from Chicago (USA) in 2008 after her inspiring encounter with the culture of overseas.

Only who knows about the years of study at the Academy of Arts in Urbino, may be able to tell what Nicoletta was thinking at that moment. Only if you follow her journeys of study to different European capitals, that gave this elegantly refined imprint to her work, it will be possible for you to understand, how synthesis or melody can be created in a way that to a layman as well as to the master it may appear to be stone, but in fact it is clay, modulated and cooked by ancient oriental techniques.

The eclectic artist durantina ripens and develops her professional qualities attending courses of ceramics, incision and marble sculpture, but it is the journeys to the poor people’s India, the European transfers on phlegmatic lorries that illustrate and compare the world of others to our own. From this point paintings are born, made of oil-colour dealt with as if they were watercolours, put into effect by her hands that do not leave any traces as the fingertips are so much consumed, leaving the brushes of the classic painters almost new.

Nicoletta’s work has been compared to a good wine. It requires the same time and the same patience which is necessary for Bacchus’ nectar to open up and free all of his aromas, as to find what the artist shows us in her work, which exists, it is there; it is enough to look for it and to empathize her state of mind to enter and become part of it and so to see everything clearly. Her creations synthesise the magic of who is able to create the passage from the obvious by raising the charm of a new dimension that tickles and stimulates the earthly fragility and accompanies us into a everlasting tale and plastic evolution.

Now I understand what and in wich way you can be inspired by primordial beings swallowed by nature, then mysteriously re-emerged, eternal witnesses of the past that the “sandy stone“, eroded and modeled by time and by the waters, bring back to life. Now it is quite clear: only the one who caresses the whale in the Terra del Fuego and watches the snow fall upon the arid Mexican plains, may understand that we live a continuous metamorphosis that is caused by the Divine, even for the one that is not convinced and from the the crude land figures of myths are shaped that tell us about man and of his eternal research.

So this is what demonstrates the fascination that Nicoletta sustains from every artistic discipline and her interest in the ancient techniques of painting and any sculptural material; the thing that leads her to immerge into the mysterious world of symbols and the alchemy of Merlin. Now we know how the nights passed in the open on the heights of the Pyrenees get you to contemplate the Celestial proposals, leaving the common temporality, and how they may conduct you on the path of who still is not able to create works that will leave a decided imprint on the soul of the lucky ones that in the years to come will be able to admire them.
